Office of the Press Secretary FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 7, 2019 Statement by the Press Secretary on the Visit of Taoiseach Leo Varadkar of Ireland   President Donald J. Trump will welcome Taoiseach Leo Varadkar of Ireland to the White House on March 14, 2019, in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.  The President and the Taoiseach will discuss how to further strengthen relations between the United States and Ireland, including enhancing economic and people-to-people ties, and maintaining the progress achieved by the Good Friday Agreement.  The President also looks forward to hosting the Taoiseach at the annual Shamrock Bowl presentation.
