President Donald J. Trump Announces Intent to Nominate the Following Individual to a Key Administration Post
Today, President Donald J. Trump announced his intent to nominate the following individual to a key position in his Administration:
Chad F. Wolf, of Virginia, to be Secretary of Homeland Security.
Chad F. Wolf currently serves as the Acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Mr. Wolf oversees the third largest department in the United States Federal Government and is responsible for counterterrorism; border, aviation, and maritime security; enforcement of immigration laws; response to national disasters and pandemics; and cybersecurity and critical infrastructure.
Before his current post, Mr. Wolf was confirmed on November 13, 2019, as the first Under Secretary of the DHS Office of Strategy, Policy, and Plans, where he led the policy, coordination, and development process.
During this Administration, he also served as the Chief of Staff and Assistant Secretary for DHS, as well as Chief of Staff for the Transportation Security Administration. Mr. Wolf received the United States Secretary of Homeland Security Distinguished Service Medal for his leadership and management of complex national issues.
Mr. Wolf also spent 11 years in the private sector and served as a staffer on Capitol Hill.
