FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE February 18, 2021   Statement by NSC Spokesperson Emily Horne on National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan’s Call with Foreign Policy and Defense Advisor to Chancellor Sebastian Kurz of Austria   National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan spoke by phone yesterday with Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz. Mr. Sullivan expressed the Biden Administration’s appreciation for the strong U.S.-Austria relationship and commitment to restoring transatlantic ties.  Mr. Sullivan and Mr. Kurz agreed to work together on common global challenges, including climate change, economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, and counterterrorism.  They also discussed coordination on shared foreign policy priorities, including the Western Balkans and China, as well as opportunities to protect religious freedom worldwide.
